EPCEPC company Ishan International Ltd has successfully secured a significant order worth Rs 150 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme in Maharashtra. The order, obtained from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) of the state government, involves the installation of over 5,000 solar-powered agricultural pumps across Maharashtra.

The comprehensive contract encompasses supply, installation, and maintenance, with the company set to execute the project in multiple phases. The initial tranche of the order amounts to Rs 18 crore. Launched in 2019, the PM-KUSUM scheme aims to enhance solar capacity by 30,800 MW by 2022, backed by a central financial support of Rs 34,422 crore.

Ishan International's involvement in this project aligns with its diverse presence in engineering, power, finance, and information technology sectors. The company's strategic win reflects its commitment to contributing to sustainable energy solutions, particularly in the agricultural sector. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Central Government has extended the PM-KUSUM scheme until March 2026 to ensure its successful implementation.
