JSW MG Motor India Appoints Parth Jindal as Chairman

The Board of Directors of JSW MG Motor India Private Limited has appointed Parth Jindal as Chairman of the company, effective immediately, the company announced.
Jindal has been a member of the JSW MG Motor India board since the inception of the joint venture. During this period, he has contributed to the automaker’s development, product strategy, and efforts to expand its manufacturing capabilities.
JSW MG Motor India is a collaboration between JSW Group and SAIC Motor, combining JSW’s understanding of the Indian market with SAIC’s global automotive expertise. Since its launch, the company has sold more than 150,000 electric vehicles.
The MG ZS has also been recognised as one of India’s best-selling electric vehicles, strengthening the company’s position in the country’s growing EV market.
Alongside his new role, Jindal holds several leadership positions within the JSW Group. He serves as Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints, Chairman of JSW Dulux Limited, and Director on the Board of JSW Energy. He is also the founder of JSW Sports and serves as chairman and co-owner of the Delhi Capitals.

Jindal is the youngest of the three children of Sajjan Jindal and Sangita Jindal. He attended Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and Sevenoaks School in England. In 2012, he earned a BA in economics and political science from Brown University. He later completed an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2016.

His appointment comes as JSW MG Motor India continues to strengthen its presence in India’s electric mobility sector and expand its automotive operations. The appointment also comes at a time when India’s EV market is witnessing increasing competition and investment.

Jindal will guide the company’s next phase of growth, with a focus on strengthening its market presence, customer reach, and electric vehicle portfolio across several key Indian markets.
