JSW MG Motor India Set to Launch Two New Products in 2024

JSWJSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd, the automotive joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group, has announced plans to introduce two new products this calendar year.

In a joint statement, the promoters of JSW MG Motor revealed the company's strategy to roll out a new product, including new energy vehicles (NEVs), every three to six months, starting from this festive season. With two new products slated for launch this year, the company is set to make a mark in the premium vehicle segment.

JSW MG Motor India will embark on expanding its production capacity in Halol, Gujarat, with a focus on manufacturing NEVs. This expansion is projected to elevate the production capacity from the current 100,000-plus vehicles to up to 300,000 vehicles annually, as outlined in the statement.

The business roadmap underscores a commitment to extensive localization and the creation of a robust automotive ecosystem across the nation, according to the promoters.

Parth Jindal, Member of the Steering Committee of JSW MG Motor India, articulated the company's ambition, stating, "Our aim is to emerge as the leading auto OEM in the NEV segment in India. We are dedicated to introducing the best available technology to provide Indian consumers with world-class cars at affordable prices." He emphasized the need to elevate MG India's impact and success with the joint venture's next phase.

Rajeev Chaba, CEO Emeritus of MG Motor India, affirmed the joint venture's commitment to offering a diverse range of vehicles, spanning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to NEVs. He stressed the importance of building a robust and sustainable EV ecosystem in India and expanding the manufacturing footprint through extensive localization, leveraging the JSW Group's manufacturing expertise.

This announcement signals a significant stride towards advancing electric mobility and fortifying India's automotive industry.
