Kia India Appoints Gwanggu Lee as New MD and CEO

kiaKia India has declared the appointment of Gwanggu Lee as the new Managing Director and CEO, with immediate effect. Lee takes over from Tae Jin Park, who is retiring after serving Kia Corporation for 36 years, including a four-year tenure with Kia India.

Lee brings extensive leadership experience garnered from diverse global markets, encompassing the US, Canada, Italy, Mexico, and significant roles held at Kia Headquarters in Central and South America, along with the Kia Europe Headquarters in Germany. Notably, his recent position as President at Kia Mexico played a crucial role in fostering the company's growth, establishing it as a pivotal production and export center, as highlighted by the automaker.

Expressing his perspective, Lee emphasized Kia India's trajectory, highlighting pivotal updates such as the new Seltos and Sonet, alongside a pipeline of innovative products awaiting release. "With the introduction of the new Seltos and the new Sonet, and several other innovative products in the pipeline, Kia India is unmistakably charting a course toward sustainable business growth", he underlined. Additionally, Lee outlined his vision for the company's future, stating, "My aim is to unlock the next phase of growth by creating inspiring Kia brand experiences, thus generating enduring value and impact for our customers, partners, and employees alike". Presently, Kia India offers a lineup of five models in the Indian market, featuring popular vehicles like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens.
