Lula da Silva to Visit India with 'Largest-ever Delegation'

The Brazilian Ambassador to India, Kenneth Felix Haczynski da Nobrega, announced on Tuesday that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will travel to India on February 19 (Thursday), heading the largest delegation ever from 'President Lula to visit India with the largest Brazilian delegation'.
In an address to the media, the envoy mentioned that numerous ministers and a substantial business delegation would join the President. He mentioned, "President Lula will travel to India, heading the largest delegation Brazil has ever sent to India." He stated, "The two nations are growing closer collaborators in technology, economy, and commerce."
The ambassador emphasized the increasing momentum in bilateral relations, pointing out that collaboration between India and Brazil has broadened considerably across various sectors, such as innovation, digital technology, economy, and trade.
The visit takes place during the current India AI Impact Summit 2026, occurring from February 16 to 20.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will travel to India from February 18 to 22, joined by multiple ministers and a top-tier group of CEOs, highlighting the visit’s significant economic and strategic emphasis. According to the MEA, President Lula is set to engage in bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 21.

The accompanying ministers are anticipated to conduct discussions with their Indian counterparts, while leading CEOs of Brazilian firms are likely to take part in a Business Forum arranged during the visit of the Brazilian President, highlighting the increasing trade and business relations between India and Brazil.
The key highlight of the visit is anticipated to be the bilateral meeting between President Lula and Prime Minister Modi on February 21. The two leaders will assess the full range of bilateral relations and seek methods to enhance the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership.

Conversations are anticipated to include collaboration in trade and investment, defense, energy (including renewable sources), agriculture, health, and pharmaceuticals, critical minerals, rare earth elements, as well as science & technology and innovation, particularly regarding cooperation in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and AI, outer space, and connections between individuals.

The two leaders would also discuss regional and global matters of shared interest, such as collaboration in multilateral forums, improved multilateralism, global governance, and concerns related to the Global South. The two nations hold similar perspectives on several global matters, such as UN reforms, climate change, and fighting terrorism.
