Maharashtra Government Inks Pact With Aggreko India

The Maharashtra government inked a memorandum of understanding with Aggreko India for an investment of about Rs.400 crore in Pune over the next decade, which is anticipated to create almost 1,000 jobs, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The facility would represent Aggreko's largest engineering and manufacturing center globally, located outside of Scotland.

Aggreko India functions in the energy and climate regulation solutions industry. The MoU was executed in the presence of Fadnavis at the Sahyadri Guest House located in Mumbai.
"The company will receive all necessary support, along with an excellent working environment, for this project," Fadnavis said.
He stated that Pune is becoming a prominent center for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and welcomed Aggreko to the area.

As per the agreement, Aggreko India is set to establish a cutting-edge global engineering and manufacturing facility in Phulgaon, Pune district, with project work anticipated to commence later this year.
"Pune is now becoming an important centre for Global Capability Centres, and we welcome Aggreko to this GCC capital. The company will have an excellent working environment in India, especially in Maharashtra," the chief minister said.
The state government announced that all required permissions, registrations, approvals, incentives, and administrative assistance for the Pune project would be granted in line with current policies. The funding will be managed via the sectors of industries, energy, labor, and mining.

Officials indicated that the project was anticipated to significantly enhance the local supply chain and assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in linking with global supply chains.
It is anticipated to enhance Maharashtra's skills in advanced manufacturing, energy equipment manufacturing, and precision engineering, they noted.
The firm will concentrate on creating sustainable tech solutions intended to enhance energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and bolster resilience to climate change across various sectors.
Aggreko has committed to collaborating in advancing sustainable energy and temperature regulation systems that align with the state's climate action strategy.
