Manipal Health Collects Rs.4,167 Crore from Anchor Investors

Manipal Health Enterprises has garnered Rs.4,167 crore from anchor investors like Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Allianz Global Investors Fund as its Rs.9,275-crore initial public offering begins for public subscription.

The IPO of Manipal Health started with a six percent subscription at first, based on data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as of 1:30 pm.

In addition to Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Allianz Global Investors Fund, the anchor book drew in a variety of global investors, such as Morgan Stanley Asia, Natixis International Fund, Societe Generale, and Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, as stated in a circular released on the BSE on Tuesday.

Furthermore, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), Kotak MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, UTI MF, and HSBC MF also took part in the anchor round. As stated in the circular, the firm allocated more than 7.06 crore equity shares to anchor investors at Rs.590 each, which is the highest level of the IPO price range.

The IPO price range has been set between Rs.560 and Rs.590 per share, which values the company at just above Rs.77,600 crore at the higher end. The firm's public offering lasting three days will end on July 31.

The IPO proposed by the Bengaluru-based firm includes a fresh issue of equity shares valued at up to Rs.8,000 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 2.16 crore equity shares from current shareholders.

 

Promoters -- Imperius Healthcare Investments Private Limited. Ltd. and Manipal Education and Medical Group India Pvt. Ltd. -- together with investors TPG SG Magazine Pte. Ltd., Seventy Second Investment Company LLC, Ammar Sdn Bhd, Novo Holdings Invest Asia, and Phoenix Bear Investments, LLC, will reduce their holdings through the OFS.

The firm suggests using Rs.5,378 crore from the new issue to repay or prepay debts of its subsidiary, Manipal Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. Rs.574 crore has been allocated for obtaining the minority interest in the step-down subsidiary Sahyadri Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., with the rest of the funds designated for general corporate use.

At the higher end of the price range, the issue size is projected to be approximately Rs.9,275 crore, whereas at the lower end it is estimated to be around Rs.9,210 crore.

Manipal Health runs a nationwide network of multispecialty hospitals providing services that include outpatient treatment to advanced tertiary and quaternary procedures.

As of March 31, 2026, the red herring prospectus indicates that the company managed 49 hospitals in India, totaling 13,037 licensed beds (licensed beds refer to the overall count of hospital beds authorized by regulatory bodies for patient care within a facility).

For the fiscal year that concluded on March 31, 2026, the firm's operational revenue reached Rs.10,336 crore, with a profit of Rs.916.52 crore. The company's stock is expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE around August 5.
