Juniper Green Energy to Open Rs 1,800 Crore IPO

Renewable energy firm Juniper Green Energy announced that it will launch its Rs.1,800-crore initial public offering (IPO) for public subscription starting July 30, with the issue closing on August 3.

As per the company's red herring prospectus (RHP) submitted on Thursday, the IPO consists solely of a new issuance of equity shares without any offer-for-sale (OFS) element.

The bidding for the anchor investor will start on July 29. When submitting its draft documents to SEBI, the company aimed to raise as much as Rs.3,000 crore through the public offering.

From the IPO proceeds, the firm will allocate Rs.683.24 crore to pay off or settle part of its debts. It will additionally invest Rs.728.69 crore in its subsidiaries -- Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Kite, and Juniper Green Power Five -- to assist them in repaying or prepaying their existing loans. The leftover funds will be allocated for overall corporate purposes.

Juniper Green Energy designs, constructs, and manages large-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage projects throughout India.

Supported by Singapore's AT Capital Group, the firm has been broadening its renewable energy portfolio, which includes launching India's first merchant 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan and initiating phased commissioning of an integrated Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project that integrates solar, wind, and battery storage.

The company based in Gurugram has a unified platform that covers project development, engineering, procurement, construction, and operations while aiming to enhance its footprint in renewable energy and energy storage solutions.

 

ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities, and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial, along with Kotak Mahindra Capital Company serve as the book-running lead managers for the issue, whereas KFin Technologies acts as the registrar.

Earlier, Juniper Green Energy launched India's biggest wind turbine based on rotor diameter, utilizing Envision's EN-182 wind turbine generator (WTG) with a capacity of 5 MW and a rotor diameter of 181 meters.

The commissioning signifies a pivotal point for the nation's wind energy industry, with bigger turbines being utilized more frequently to enhance generation efficiency and lower the levelised cost of renewable electricity. As of June 22, 2026, the company has commissioned more than 82 MW of wind energy capacity across projects located in Barmer, Rajasthan, and the districts of Surendranagar and Rajkot in Gujarat.

The company reports that installing the EN-182 turbines is anticipated to boost energy production and increase operational efficiency throughout its wind portfolio.

Envision Energy India’s wind turbine features a 105.56 metre hub height along with a tubular steel tower. The updated platform boosts annual energy production (AEP) by more than 40 percent compared to its existing EN 156/3.3MW platform. This platform, with an increased swept area, has improved turbine operational temperatures to 50°C in ambient conditions and achieved 98 percent machine uptime in strong winds, showcasing Envision’s technological advancements.

Juniper Green Energy is poised to launch another 246.4 MW of wind capacity at these locations in the next few months. The newest commissioning comes after the recent incorporation of 305 MW of renewable capacity in Gujarat and the launch of India’s inaugural Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in Rajasthan, enhancing Juniper Green Energy’s varied clean energy pipeline.
