
Medanta to Set up a 400 Bed Super Speciality Hospital in Guwahati

Global Health, which operates hospitals under the Medanta brand, plans to invest around Rs 500 crore to set up a 400-bed super speciality hospital in Guwahati, Assam.
The company's board, in its meeting, has approved the purchase of 3 acres of land from Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd for Rs 30 crore plus incidental expenses for registration and possession of the land, the healthcare provider said in a regulatory filing.
The board has also sanctioned plans to allocate approximately Rs 500 crore, including land expenses, for the development of the 400-bed super specialty hospital, it mentioned.
Medanta's entry into the area will be revolutionary, offering medical proficiency and extensive care in over 20 super specializations, such as transplants and sophisticated robotic surgeries.
"This signifies the start of a transformative journey aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and providing advanced medical services to millions in Assam and nearby states," states Medanta Chairman and Managing Director Naresh Trehan.
The new establishment intends to enhance healthcare infrastructure, aiming to cater to more than 50 million individuals throughout Assam and its adjacent states.
The healthcare provider now manages five hospitals located in Gurugram, Indore, Ranchi, Lucknow, and Patna. There is additionally one hospital being built in Noida.

Global Health shares closed 1.09 percent lower at Rs 1,201.50 each on the BSE.
