A Power duo to lead the trade body from 2020-2021

The premier trade body and the chamber of commerce, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) fill the line of succession by appointing UB Pravin Rao (COO, Infosys) and Rekha Menan (Chairman and Senior Managing Director, Accenture) in respective roles of chairman & vice chairman for 2020-2021. The announcement was drawn after the first-ever video conference meet of the Executive Council, considering the COVID situation in the play. Back in 2019 UB Pravin was appointed as the Vice Chairman of NASSCOM and from now he will be succeeding former Chairperson Keshav Murugesh, (Group CEO, WNS Global Services) with a heart to upskill the IT industry of India.

UB Pravin says, “I’m thankful for the trust that NASSCOM’s Executive Council has put in me, and I look forward to serving the industry in this role. These are challenging times for the Indian IT industry, as we deal with an unprecedented situation. However, the Indian IT industry has time and again proven its resilience, and I have no doubt that this time too, we will emerge stronger and wiser. As we all adjust to a new normal, I hope to continue the great work that NASSCOM has been doing in transforming the industry and making it relevant in this digital era. I believe that our industry, more than ever, needs a focused approach towards building resilience, upskilling workforce and contributing to our country’s growth, and I’m excited to be a part of this journey with NASSCOM.”

Alongside the strategic and operational skill of UB Pravin, Rekha will play the role to voice and animate the reforms in the industry en routing new opportunities in changing the fate of IT industry in India.

Much has to be done in the days ahead to help tide over this crisis and we must stay agile. I would like to wish Pravin and Rekha all the success in their journey with NASSCOM



Rekha is one of the most recognized faces if spoken of the most influential women in business who truly accelerated the IT industry with brilliant tech-suites, towards advancement. With the leadership of the powerful duo, NASSCOM strengthens its leadership plinth, to flood new possibilities in the technology industry.

Future-proofing NASSCOM. Through on-going changes to charters and affiliates will ensure the organization remains relevant in an ever-changing business environment. I take great pride in the industry’s response and NASSCOM’s role in working with various stakeholders on work-from-home solutions as well as providing technology solutions in the wake of the COVID19 outbreak.
