Navdeep Singh Suri Takes Over as MobiKwik Chairperson
MobiKwik Systems Ltd has selected Navdeep Singh Suri as the chairperson of its board, a decision aimed at solidifying the company's dedication to robust corporate governance and enduring institutional growth.
Suri, who has been a member of MobiKwik's board of directors as an independent director since 2021, now assumes the position of chairperson in the wake of Upasana Taku's transition.

The company has stated that this alteration aligns with international governance standards by effectively segregating board leadership from executive management, thereby facilitating increased independent oversight and equitable decision-making processes.
MobiKwik emphasized that Suri's promotion adds continuity and expertise to the board due to his knowledge of the company and extensive background in governance and public policy. This appointment is anticipated to enhance supervision as the company expands its digital payments and financial services operations.
Suri is a seasoned diplomat with close to forty years of experience in international relations, having served in various high-ranking positions such as ambassador to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, high commissioner to Australia, and consul general in Johannesburg.

He commenced his career as a senior diplomat in India in 1983, undertaking various significant postings around the globe such as Cairo, Damascus, Washington DC, Dar es Salaam, London, and Johannesburg. Throughout his career, he has held prestigious positions including serving as India's Ambassador to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, High Commissioner to Australia, and Consul General in Johannesburg.
For his notable contributions, he was honored with the Order of Zayed II, the second-highest civilian award in the United Arab Emirates, bestowed upon him by the President of the UAE.
Suri has experience in senior roles within the West Africa and Public Diplomacy divisions at the Ministry of External Affairs, and is currently serving as a Visiting Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi. Additionally, he holds positions on the boards of respected organizations such as SBI Funds International (IFSC), Hindustan Ports, and Hindustan Infralog.
Currently serving as a visiting fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, Suri also holds positions on various boards within the finance and infrastructure sectors.
