Between September 13 and 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to five states including Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar to dedicate infrastructure and energy initiatives valued at more than Rs.71,850 crore.

In Aizawl, he will initiate projects worth Rs.9,000 crore, notably establishing the inaugural railway connection linking Mizoram's capital to the national rail network.

The centerpiece is the Rs.8,070-crore Bairabi-Sarang railway line, featuring 45 tunnels built through challenging geological terrain, along with 55 major bridges and 88 smaller bridges.

Following the establishment of direct railway access, Modi will ceremonially launch three new express train services: the Sairang (Aizawl)-Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal) Rajdhani Express, the Sairang-Guwahati Express, and the Sairang-Kolkata Express.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, this improved connectivity will facilitate better access to medical facilities, educational institutions, and commercial centers.

In Manipur, groundbreaking ceremonies will take place for initiatives totaling Rs.7,300 crore, which include urban road development, drainage systems, and an asset management enhancement project exceeding Rs.3,600 crore in value.

Additionally, the Kuruwa–Narengi bridge spanning the Brahmaputra river will enhance regional connectivity and foster socio-economic growth in the area.

In Bihar, which is preparing for elections, several railway initiatives are planned, including the Bikramshila-Katareah railway line valued at Rs.2,170 crore, for which Modi will perform the groundbreaking ceremony.

Modi will additionally launch the new railway connection linking Arariya-Galgalia (Thakurganj) valued at more than Rs.4,410 crore.

He will also launch the Vande Bharat Express service connecting Jogbani and Danapur, which will directly serve districts including Araria, Purnea, Madhepura, Saharsa, Khagaria, Begusarai, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, and Patna.

Amrit Bharat train services will be introduced as well — these are completely non-air conditioned trains designed to address transportation challenges for economically disadvantaged passengers.

In total, Modi will launch or initiate projects valued at Rs.36,000 crore across Bihar.
