
PM Modi Meets Chip Giants, Says Confidence in India's Potential Rising

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with senior leaders from leading global semiconductor companies during SEMICON India 2025 and highlighted their faith in India's capability to become a center for chip innovation and production.
The meeting featured a notable assembly of key individuals from the semiconductor industry.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister remarked, "Earlier today, I had the opportunity to interact with prominent CEOs from the semiconductor sector during SEMICON India 2025. Their belief in India's potential is clear, and they are making significant investments in India as a worldwide center for semiconductor innovation and production. I discussed India’s unwavering reform efforts in this field, which encompass the development of strong infrastructure along with a focus on skill development and innovation."

Photos from the event showed that ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet, AMD CTO Mark Papermaster, Seoul Semiconductors CEO Chung Hoon Lee, and Applied Materials- Semiconductor Product Group President Prabu Raja, among others had attended.
Additionally, Semi President and CEO Ajit Manocha, KLA CEO Ahmad Khan, Tokyo Electron President and CEO Toshiki Kawai, Infineon COO Alexander Gorski, and PSMC President Martin Chu were also in attendance at the event.

Running from September 2-4 in the national capital, SEMICON India 2025 saw several significant agreements made during its initial days, including Tata Electronics' memorandums of understanding with Merck Electronics and C-DAC, as well as partnerships formed by L&T Semicon with IIT Gandhinagar, C-DAC, and IISc Bangalore.
