Its commencement signifies a noteworthy achievement in India's progression towards establishing itself as a prominent global center for aviation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make a visit to Uttar Pradesh on March 28, 2026. In the morning of that day, around 11:30 am, he will conduct an inspection of the terminal building at the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Following this, at approximately noon, the prime minister will officially open Phase-I of the Noida International Airport and deliver a speech to a gathered audience. The Noida airport stands as one of the most significant greenfield airport initiatives in India.
The joint operation of the airports in Delhi and Noida will create a cohesive aviation network, alleviating traffic congestion, increasing passenger capacity, and establishing Delhi-NCR as a prominent international aviation center, the announcement declared.
The initial phase of the Noida International Airport has been constructed at a cost of Rs 11,200 crore using a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) framework.
Initially, the airport will possess the capability to cater to 12 million passengers every year. Upon completion of its full development, this figure could potentially increase to accommodate up to 70 million passengers annually.
The characteristics consist of a 3,900-meter runway equipped to accommodate large-bodied aircraft, state-of-the-art navigation systems like the Instrument Landing System, and cutting-edge airfield lighting designed to facilitate efficient, all-weather, 24/7 operations.
The airport also encompasses a comprehensive cargo infrastructure, which comprises a diverse range of facilities such as a multi-modal cargo hub, an integrated cargo terminal, and logistics zones.

Crafted with a focus on sustainability and prepared for future needs, the Noida International Airport has the goal of functioning as a facility that produces zero net emissions. It will incorporate energy-efficient systems and environmentally conscious practices.
The architectural concept of the building is influenced by Indian heritage, integrating features that evoke traditional ghats and havelis to combine cultural values with contemporary design.
