PM Urges Manufacturers to Focus on Quality Post India-EU FTA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged Indian manufacturers to prioritize quality to secure a position in the minds of consumers across 27 European Union nations. He expressed optimism that the trade agreement between India and the EU will serve as motivation for manufacturers to strengthen their abilities.
During his introductory speech before the legislative bodies, at the commencement of the budget session, Modi emphasized the importance of finalizing the trade agreement. He observed that the early years of this century have commenced on a notably optimistic note. Modi stated that India, exuding self-assurance, is now a beacon of hope globally and has emerged as a focal point of interest.

Observing the onset of the next quarter of the 21st century, he emphasized that the crucial phase of these 25 years has commenced on the path towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. The impending presentation of the initial Budget of this second quarter of the century carries significant weight.
“At the beginning of this quarter, India and the European Union signed a Free Trade Agreement. It is a reflection of how bright the upcoming directions are, of how bright the future of Indian youth is. This Free Trade for Ambitious India, Free Trade for Aspirational Youth, Free Trade for Aatmanirbhar India. I am confident that, especially the manufacturers of India, will use this opportunity to enhance their capabilities”, he says, noting that the deal is a major step in the direction of a confident, competitive and productive India.
“The FTA with EU is for an ambitious India, (to) urge manufacturers to benefit from new markets opening for them”, he says.
He highlighted the historical significance of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's role as the first woman Finance Minister in the country to present the Budget in Parliament for the 9th consecutive time, marking a momentous occasion in the nation's parliamentary records.

As per the Prime Minister, the nation's focus naturally gravitates towards the Budget. However, the hallmark principles guiding this Administration are centered on the tenets of reform, performance, and transformation. Now, “we have swiftly taken off on ‘Reform Express’. I express gratitude to all MPs for their positive contributions in speeding up this ‘Reform Express’. As a result, ‘Reform Express’ is gaining speed”, he says.
The upcoming unveiling of the Economic Survey of India is scheduled for Thursday. This significant report is meticulously curated by the Economic Division within the Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA), offering a comprehensive analysis of the current economic landscape.

The document delves into key economic indicators for the fiscal year of 2025-26 (April-March) and also offers projections for the forthcoming fiscal period. The legislative session will encompass a total of 30 meetings spread out over a period of 65 days, ending on April 2, 2026. Both Houses of Parliament will take a break on February 13, 2026, and resume on March 9, 2026, to allow the Standing Committees to review the budgetary requests of different ministries and departments.
