The export initiative showcases India's increasing significance in Renault Group's worldwide manufacturing and supply chain framework.

The firm has been consistently boosting investments in domestic manufacturing, engineering, and export skills as a component of its wider 'futuREady' strategy.

On the occasion, Stephane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group India, remarked that the start of exports for the all-new Duster confirms the quality, competitiveness, and manufacturing abilities of Renault’s Chennai facility. The initiation of Duster exports indicates Renault's trust in the Indian manufacturing sector, particularly as the firm readies to broaden its product range in the region in the coming years.

He also emphasized India’s capability to become a global automotive export center, referencing the nation’s manufacturing environment, engineering expertise, and enhancing logistics infrastructure. Renault has set an ambitious goal of reaching €2 billion in yearly exports from India by 2030, with anticipated future export figures expected to be crucial in meeting this target.

The completely redesigned Duster is the initial Renault car in India constructed on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP). This innovative architecture has been designed to accommodate various powertrain technologies and enables enhanced flexibility for upcoming product development. In India, prices begin at Rs 10.5 lakh. Earlier this month, Duster India reached the 5k sales milestone.

In addition to increased scalability, the RGMP platform is anticipated to provide greater structural strength, improved safety, and compatibility with future electrified powertrain options. Renault has recently announced that the new Duster achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for all variants and powertrain choices. This accomplishment enhances its attractiveness not just in the local market but also in overseas markets where safety regulations are becoming ever more significant.

The comeback of the Duster brand is a vital element of Renault India’s revitalization plan.

The first Duster was very popular in India and played a key role in positioning Renault as a well-known manufacturer of passenger vehicles. Nevertheless, following its cessation, Renault’s lineup has mainly been restricted to Kwid, Kiger, and Triber.

The latest generation Duster is anticipated to be pivotal in Renault's future expansion strategies, both within India and in international markets. Renault has synchronized various new releases for the upcoming years. The upcoming launch is the 7-seater version of Duster scheduled for later this fiscal year, while a sub-4m Bridger SUV is targeted for a Diwali launch in 2027.
