Rohan Mehta Named CTO at Omnicom Advertizing India

Omnicom Advertising India has made a strategic leadership decision by naming Rohan Mehta as the chief transformation officer for the group, according to reports.
This appointment solidifies Rohan's move into a senior role within the group, following the reorganization that occurred after Omnicom's acquisition of IPG last year, which led to Kinnect and other entities becoming part of its portfolio.

Rohan assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer following a distinguished 14-year tenure as the Founder and CEO of Kinnect.
As indicated on his LinkedIn profile, his leadership transformed the agency from a modest, three-person startup in 2011 into a prominent entity with over 600 members operating under the FCB umbrella, securing 11 Cannes Lions awards consistently over a span of four years.
In his new capacity, Rohan aims to unify the group’s vast internal expertise. “I believe that when strong capabilities connect, they create disproportionate impact," Mehta noted, outlining his focus on mapping strengths across the network to make them "accessible, usable, and scalable across agencies”.
Mehta described the move as a "landmark moment for Indian advertising," noting the scale of the portfolio involved”.
“He shared his strategic vision for the role: My aim is for clients to experience the best of what Omnicom Advertising can offer, and for the talent within our network to build on their years of trust, experience, and knowledge, while adding the skill sets most relevant to marketing today”.
Additionally, his professional experience encompasses a pivotal role as Client Solutions Director at Allied Digital Services. Rohan's main responsibility is to develop a "plug-in deployment model" which enables Omnicom's agencies to smoothly incorporate services in areas such as digital media, influencer marketing, SEO, and emerging technologies.

Jitender Dabas, currently the Chief Executive Officer at Cheil X, is reportedly preparing to leave his role to assume the position of BBDO Group CEO at Omnicom Advertising India, as per information from various sources knowledgeable about the situation.
This change is occurring amidst a period of leadership instability and organizational restructuring within Omnicom Advertising India, brought about by the recent merger between Omnicom Group and Interpublic Group (IPG).
Omnicom Advertising India previously indicated to Storyboard18 that Ulka (formerly FCB Ulka) and Mudra (formerly a part of the DDB Mudra Group) would be integrated into the BBDO Group as part of the company's shift to a new operational structure.

The BBDO Group in India now includes BBDO India, Ulka, and Mudra, with Dabas appointed as the CEO to oversee this cluster. The reorganization of leadership is occurring amid concerns emerging within Omnicom Advertising India, as the consolidation between global Omnicom and IPG starts to significantly impact local operations.
Several industry executives are indicating discontent among high-ranking staff, internal tensions, and increasing client apprehension as the integration progresses. According to experienced senior executives, the merger has caused ambiguity concerning reporting structures, decision-making powers, and agency positioning.
