Rolls-Royce, a major player in aerospace and power systems, anticipates that the non-governmental sector of its power systems division in India will surpass the traditionally leading government contracts by 2026-27, according to reports.

The firm, which markets MTU products and solutions in India through its power systems division, is making a significant investment in the surge of power solutions for data centers, semiconductor locations, and various institutional backup setups, such as manufacturing facilities.

Rolls-Royce's power systems division, an expert in large engines, propulsion systems, and distributed energy systems, is celebrating 25 years in the country, featuring more than 2600 MTU engines and generators operational in naval and land defense, mining, and power generation sectors.

"What has occurred now is that, similar to much of the world, the data center surge has begun and is altering the landscape of India. Historically, it was 70 percent governmental and 30 percent other business. This year, the business is trending towards 50-50, and in the future, the other business will be more robust." Spadaro says.
