Sharat Verma Named Tata Consumer Beverages President
Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) has revealed the naming of Sharat Verma to the position of President – Packaged Beverages, India & South Asia (including Organic India), after Puneet Das stepped down from his role to explore fresh career prospects following an eight-year tenure at the organization.
Verma brings extensive leadership experience as he currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager for Fabric Care at Procter & Gamble (P&G), where he manages operations spanning India, the Middle East, and Africa.
Throughout his more than twenty years at P&G, he has been instrumental in developing and growing multiple international brands including Ariel, Tide, Gillette, Oral-B, and Olay across various regions such as India, ASEAN, China, and the Middle East.

As both a strategic marketing professional and general manager, Verma has established himself through his impressive track record of fostering growth within intensely competitive and cost-conscious market segments. While serving as Vice President for Fabric Care at P&G India, he managed a business valued at $0.5 billion and delivered a 15 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the face of intense market rivalry.
Notable among his accomplishments is his leadership of consumer research-based initiatives like "Share The Load", which created meaningful social impact while simultaneously enhancing brand value and driving sales results.
Verma graduated from the University of Delhi with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and earned his MBA in Marketing from the International Management Institute (IMI), Delhi. His professional journey started in sales positions at Henkel and Gillette before joining P&G, where he advanced through various leadership roles.
TCPL is experiencing a leadership transition following Puneet Das's decision to resign from his position, where he led the Packaged Beverages division through a phase of significant expansion. His resignation takes effect on November 3, 2025. Das conveyed his appreciation in his resignation letter, describing his eight-year tenure at Tata Consumer as "an amazing experience" while recognizing the "wonderful learning" and growth opportunities the organization offered. He committed to providing complete support throughout the handover process.

Additionally, Prashant Parameswaran, who served as President of the Soulfull Business, has departed from his position due to personal circumstances, with his resignation becoming effective December 15, 2025.
These executive departures represent a pivotal period for Tata Consumer Products as the company works to reinforce its management team and drive expansion across various product lines in the rapidly changing consumer goods industry.
Previously this month, Storyboard18 reported that the All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) had highlighted multiple critical concerns, including the necessity for immediate discussions with impacted distributors to address commercial and operational difficulties, equitable and clear business conduct, appropriate management and elimination of defective and slow-moving inventory, rebuilding confidence through active communication and viable distribution methods, and safeguarding general trade benefits to maintain the credibility of the Tata Namak brand.
The All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) indicated that Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL), the consumer goods division of the Tata Group, had not successfully addressed persistent distributor complaints. AICPDF's National President, Dhairyashil Patil, informed Storyboard18 that the company's leadership had been unsuccessful in resolving the extended issues faced by distributors nationwide.
