Sojo, Lava International's Subsidiary, Approved for IT Hardware PLI

SojoSojo Manufacturing Services (AP) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Lava International, announced that the government has approved its application for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware. Sojo's focus is on producing a range of consumer electronic durables, including smartphones, feature phones, accessories, tablets, laptops, and other IT hardware. These products will be manufactured for Lava International, as well as other Indian and global electronics brands.

"This approval affirms our commitment to promoting local manufacturing in the IT hardware segment. The government's support through the PLI initiative is poised to propel Lava to new heights within the industry", stated Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar, President of Lava International. Sojo, under the PLI 2.0 scheme for IT hardware, aligns itself with various companies expressing interest in fortifying domestic production.

Sojo, in a statement, highlighted its role alongside other industry leaders, emphasizing its potential to significantly contribute to the global competitiveness of the Indian IT hardware sector. The PLI 2.0 scheme, featuring a total budget outlay of Rs. 17,000 crore, aims to stimulate employment and foster a competitive landscape for IT hardware production within India.
