TMEIC India Appoints Hidekazu Matsushima as New Managing Director
TMEIC Industrial Systems India Private Limited (TMEIC India), a subsidiary of TMEIC Corporation in Japan, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hidekazu Matsushima as its new Managing Director, effective April 1, 2024. Mr. Matsushima brings with him a wealth of experience, having been associated with Mitsubishi Electric's FA division for the domestic market in Japan since 1991. In 1994, he transitioned to the Industrial division, where he spearheaded sales, marketing, and business development initiatives for a range of General Industry (GI) sectors, including paper, film, oil & gas, petrochemical, cement, food, automobile, and semiconductor industries in Japan.
When TMEIC was established in Japan in 2003, Mr. Matsushima took on the role of overseeing sales for the domestic General Industry (GI) market at the Japan headquarters. Later, he transitioned to the plant & energy sales department, where he focused on promoting HV/MV/LV Switchgears & Transformers, Motors & Drives, Generators, UPS systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for industrial power, oil & gas, and GI plants through Japanese EPCs.
Later, TMEIC developed and launched the Large Motor & Drive system in 2009 for the global Oil & Gas Industry. Mr. Matsushima was assigned to launch the sales & engineering office in Houston, Texas, USA in 2010 as Business Development Director to create new business in Oil & Gas and other General industries in North America and the Global market. As part of his global business development role, he successfully expanded the business leveraging rapid market growth by the shale gas development in North America.
Upon returning to Japan in 2016, Mr. Matsushima assumed the role of department manager in Global Business Development, tasked with expanding the market presence of Motors & Drives, Generators, Switchgears, and Power Electronics products. He collaborated closely with overseas operations of TMEIC group companies in his capacity as Global General Industry Chairman. In 2019, Mr. Matsushima initiated a new department aimed at promoting Motor & Drive products primarily for pump & fan applications in industries such as Oil & Gas, Water, Desalination, Power, and other General Industry sectors worldwide.
In 2022, Mr. Matsushima took on his second overseas assignment as Senior Executive Vice President, responsible for driving the growth of TMEIC's business in India. He will now spearhead initiatives to expand the company's presence in India's burgeoning domestic market and on a global scale, with the aim of establishing India as the central hub for TMEIC's worldwide operations.
