Uber Names Rituraj Chaturmohta as Senior Country Manager

Uber for Business, the corporate arm of the ride-sharing company Uber, has named Rituraj Chaturmohta as Senior Country Manager for India and South Asia. Chaturmohta will be responsible for spearheading the organization's expansion plans in this region, with emphasis on strengthening corporate partnerships, improving transportation solutions, and fostering innovation within business travel and workforce mobility services.

Prior to his appointment at Uber, Chaturmohta held the position of Head of Sales and Business Development at Airbnb, managing activities throughout India and Southeast Asia. He additionally possesses startup experience in the hyperlocal delivery industry.

His experience in building and scaling platform businesses, combined with his understanding of the Indian market, will be instrumental in strengthening our enterprise offering,” says Eric Lee, Regional General Manager and Head of Uber for Business - APAC.

Commenting on his appointment, Chaturmohta says, “My focus is to deepen Uber’s relationships with business clients, build tailored mobility solutions that deliver measurable ROI, and make Uber for Business a growth partner for every company operating in this region.”

 

After its 2014 debut, Uber for Business has expanded its operations across more than 70 nations and 10,000 urban areas worldwide.

Chaturmohta started his professional journey at prominent Indian technology firms such as Infosys, Wipro Technologies, and TCS. Subsequently, he pursued entrepreneurial ventures by co-establishing AptionZ Foods Pvt Ltd, which operated as a digital-only restaurant concept. Additionally, he spearheaded business development efforts at PepperTap, launching B2B solutions and specialized services for high-end clientele.

He became part of Airbnb for Work in 2017 as the India Head and received a promotion to Head of Sales and Business Development for India & Southeast Asia in 2023. Following almost ten years with the organization, he declared his departure from Airbnb in 2025.

Additionally, Uber and Zomato have joined forces with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, a countrywide initiative promoting road safety that encourages individuals to avoid haste and prioritize safe arrival. Given the millions of daily trips and deliveries conducted through these platforms, both companies are leveraging their extensive reach to establish road safety as a collective practice throughout India.

The initiative was unveiled in New Delhi with the attendance of Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, the Honorable Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Shri Prasoon Joshi, the distinguished writer, poet, and campaign creator; Aditya Mangla, Zomato's CEO; and Sooraj Nair, Uber India & South Asia's Head of Safety Operations.

The collaborative effort seeks to create widespread behavioral change by motivating drivers and delivery personnel to adhere to traffic regulations while encouraging passengers and customers to refrain from pressuring them to speed. Road safety remains a collective obligation, and each responsible decision contributes to preserving lives.
