UP CM Lays Foundation of CEL-ESDS Green Data Centre

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, laid the groundwork for the CEL-ESDS Green Data Center, which will cost approximately Rs 1,000 crore and have a 30 MW capacity.
State IT Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Jitendra Singh, and State Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun joined Adityanath in laying the foundation stone for the data center on the grounds of Central Electronics Ltd (CEL).
He claimed that although there had been doubts about CEL's future at one point, this miniature Ratna was now prepared to fulfill the vision of Viksit Bharat, or developed India.
According to Adityanath, CEL is demonstrating its potential by establishing the first data center of its sort in India.
According to an official at an event, the Center of Electronics and IPO-bound ESDS will collectively invest approximately Rs 1,000 crore in the establishment of the data center.

Singh claimed that CEL's committed leadership prevented it from disinvesting.
Singh stated that in order to achieve the goal of "Viksit Bharat" (developed India), it is necessary to work with the private sector.
The data center in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh, is built for 200 high-density racks per floor, 30 MW of capacity, with 40 Gbps connection. It is intended to be tier 3 grade uptime compliant.
According to server manufacturer HPE, a Tier 3 data center is one that is built for a 99.982 percent uptime, or around 1.6 hours of downtime annually.
The proposed CEL-ESDS Green Data Center in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of Uttar Pradesh's digital and technological infrastructure. On Thursday, a ceremony will take held at the Central Electronics Limited (CEL) office in the Sahibabad Industrial Area to lay the project's foundation stone.
Central Electronics Limited and ESDS Software Solution Limited have joined forces to create the Green Data Center. As a Tier-3 facility, the center will be constructed with cutting-edge technology and strict environmental guidelines to meet the changing demands of enterprises, innovation ecosystems, and digital governance.

The facility is in line with the larger national objectives of Digital India and Green India, with a focus on environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. It is anticipated to be crucial in advancing the region's digital transformation, drawing in investments, and increasing job possibilities.
The proposed facility will have three floors with high-density computer racks and a 30-megawatt total capacity. A strong 40 Gbps ring fiber backbone, support from several ISPs, and Tier-3 green building certification will all be part of its infrastructure.
