US Lawmaker to Introduce Bill to Eliminate H-1B Visa

A U.S. legislator plans to present a bill aimed at entirely abolishing the H-1B visa program and removing the citizenship pathway it provides, requiring individuals to "go back when their visa ends."
"My fellow Americans, I am proposing a bill to entirely abolish the H-1B visa program, which has been plagued by fraud and misuse and has displaced U.S. workers for many years," said Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia in a video shared on X on Thursday.
Marjorie mentioned that her bill will have just one exemption, permitting a cap of 10,000 visas annually for medical professionals such as doctors and nurses who deliver life-saving care to Americans.
Green observed that this annual limit of 10,000 will be gradually eliminated over a decade, giving us the opportunity to develop our own influx of American doctors and medical professionals.
