Hydroponics is one of those innovations that have gained much appreciation and popularity over the recent years. The idea to grow plants with a soil-less base is revolutionary in itself and when the implementation actually yields results, it seems something worth investing for. It ideally need controlled environment like greenhouse but complete indoor conditions using artificial lights are also possible.
Such method give very consistent produce throughout the harvest period”, says Sunit Chaudhari, Co-founder.

Stepping Towards a Better Future
The industry is standing at the threshold of development today. A lot of technology is getting integrated with the urban farming processes and Vedang Agro is one of the few companies in the country that is providing it.

Speaking about the future plans of the company, the founder concludes, “Our vision is to promote urban farming and to achieve that we want to create sustainable farms which can be setup close to urban areas. To achieve this we are converting unused real estate into hydroponics farms and generate income from it. We are very keen in working along with corporate companies and hospitality industry to assist them to develop sustainable kitchens through our urban farms. Urban farms helps reduce the logistics cost and wastage of low shelf life vegetable due to its proximity to cities. And most important we want to work along with government in research and developing sustainable farming solutions which can be implemented in remote rural or tribal areas to help generate source of income and development of that region.”
