According to NASSCOM, in 2025, about 59 percent of large enterprises in India have actively deployed AI across core business functions, making us a leading major economy in AI adoption by enterprise. It's no wonder that the role of chief designers and architects now goes beyond traditional IT leadership. According to reports, around 82 percent of Indian CXOs plan to increase digital spending by more than 5 percent this year, with most of that investment pinned on AI-led transformation. They are pivotal in setting multi-year technology roadmaps to match company objectives and directly impact the speed and efficiency of technology adoption.
However, despite the momentum, one of the biggest hurdles for technology designers and architects is the skill gap, especially in advanced AI and cross-domain expertise, as well as legacy infrastructure that impedes rapid transformation. Many tech leaders cite workforce reskilling and change resistance as the top barriers to successful AI integration.

On the other hand, AI is now the core of technological architecture, influencing everything from predictive analytics in manufacturing to generative design in product engineering. The designers and architects are challenged to scale AI across business verticals, integrate low-code platforms, and ensure secure data-sharing protocols as AI models become pervasive. Their success in surmounting these challenges will determine whether Indian enterprises sustain their upward trajectory as global technology leaders. This special issue of CEO Insights delves deeper into the country's technology ecosystem, providing a unique opportunity for leaders in the domain to share their insights.
