Japan’s technology sector is experiencing a historic surge. With investments in cloud computing, AI, IoT, and cybersecurity skyrocketing, Japan’s technology market is witnessing double-digit annual growth. The cloud computing segment alone is valued at approximately $28.7 billion in 2025, expanding at nearly 16 percent each year, while the cybersecurity industry is growing at a remarkable 20 percent CAGR.

On the other hand, India and Japan’s trade relationship has grown stronger amidst these technological advancements. In FY25, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached an impressive $25.17 billion. Japanese exports to India totaled $18.92 billion, while Indian exports to Japan
stood at $6.25 billion. These vibrant trade relations also encompass a surge in private investment, with Japanese investments in India targeting up to $6.8 billion annually over the coming decade. Both nations have agreed to ramp up the exchange of skilled labor, with a target of half a million Indian professionals and students working and learning in Japan within five years.
