Today, whether it’s a Big Fat Indian wedding or an IPL event, managing it is not a cake-walk. It is the end result of months of tireless brainstorming, creative concepts and a lot of sweat and toil. In case it is a wedding, music launch, concert, office party or any themed celebrations, any of these events cannot be simple anymore as they require the intervention of a specialised type of services collectively known as event management. The event management industry in India is becoming or has already become a sunrise industry in the Indian market. It has evolved into a large scale-domain as compared to the situation of the industry one or two decades ago.

As per a survey performed by EEMA (Events and Entertainment Management Association) that was

shared with GoI and Ernst & Young in 2020, the Indian events and exhibition sector was expected to take an INR 1 Tn hit as almost all big scale events across categories have been postponed or cancelled because of the outbreak. Events are all about planning. It is a given that the effect of the virus will die down sooner or later. With this view in mind, today many highly professional and experienced event management leaders are taking a pro-active approach in managing the firms that fall into this domain.

While, the industry still has a long way to go as the firms need to focus more on providing more personalised experiences to their customers, no one person can do all the activities for any event all themselves.
