The Pillar of Strength Firming the Startup Ecosystem

Startups are the growth engine of any nation today. Especially for developing countries like India, startups are the building blocks that are adding up to the growing economy and strengthening it brick by brick. However, the situation is still grim for women in the world of entrepreneurship. In the early 2020, India had nearly 58.5 million entrepreneurs and only 8.05 million of them are women entrepreneurs, which makes only 14 percent of the total entrepreneurs in the nation.

This calls for all of us to introspect and find the reason behind it. Is it due to the social norms we have been
living with where women are meant more for the four walls of the house, or it is because the government never emphasized on the 50 percent of its population that could contribute tremendously towards the growth of the nation? Are women still considered the second-class citizen in the world of entrepreneurship where giving them opportunity to grow seem futile? Whatever may be the case, but today women professionals are not just ruling the top management roles steering their companies towards the path of success, but they are even success startup entrepreneurs who are defying all those so called norms to not just be their own boss but even contribute to the country’s GDP and generate employment.

In our current edition of CEO Insights Magazine, we bring to you the story of few such women who are ruling the chart with their conviction, grit, determination and their ability to make a difference in the life of people and that of the country. Our issue ‘Top 10 Women Startup CEOs – 2020’ tells you their story, their struggle, their ability to balance work and life and more. Read to know about them.
