What inspired you to opt for the manufacturing field?
Manufacturing is something I believe where the real value addition happens. Rest everything is serving or helping the value addition to happen. I am always fond of creating something that helps the society at large and make this world a better place. When you love the fundamentals of manufacturing and enjoy sense of creating something new, it actually doesn’t matter what you manufacture. Our group manufactures anything from more controlled processors & procedures to engines like industrial gearboxes, geared motors, fluid coupling and lift machines. Also, I believe it’s time for the industry to think about revolutionizing those fundamentals itself, since there is a slowdown in demand. Rather than worrying about the predicament, we should bank on

What were the takeaways from your previous endeavors?
There are two major things. One is definitely the experience in creating major turnarounds in manufacturing & productivity by optimizing the available resources. In the last year, we at Premium Transmission improved our revenue by 17 percent with almost no CAPEX investment by utilizing our assets better and by increasing the productivity of our people & the processes.
Another take away has been my international exposure. Throughout my previous endeavors, I have been lucky enough to travel across the world with a plethora of sales & marketing endeavors. Today, we are focusing on the market around SAARC countries, being well acquainted with the different depths. Going forward, we will expand our operations to other parts of the world as well. So, my experience is helping me to improve the top line and the bottom line, but at the same time take our India’s leading company to a global scale. We believe competing in global markets will generate new wave of ideas to improve our products and services.

you want to stay a winner for a long time, cultivating a creative mindset and promoting innovation within the organization is the only way. Apart from a state-of-the-art government certified Research & Development Centre in Pune, we also have a dedicated and well equipped innovation center based out of Kolkata. Our People there already have innovation in their DNA and we have empowered them with the freedom to implement any idea and learn from their failures. In addition to this, through our CSR endeavors, our innovation center trains around 50 girls from different villages, aimed towards bridging the gap between industry and academia while also hosting & incubating their novel ideas.
How do you maintain the balance between your busy professional schedules and personal life?
I keep my family well acquainted with my business environment, and often keep my team appraised of my family environment. So, this mutual awareness surely creates a natural balance. I am never an advocate of keeping these two pillars of life separate. I believe that if you build a good team, the work load will get shared and everyone will enjoy work life and personal life.
