Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited. (APSEZ), a prominent company of the Adani Group, announced that it has obtained a 10-year marine services contract for Argentina's inaugural liquefied natural gas (LNG) export, signifying its entry into South America and broadening its global marine services presence.

The contract was granted to APSEZ's step-down subsidiary, The Adani Harbour International FZCO, in partnership with the Argentina-based Meridian Group after a worldwide competitive tender process organized by Southern Energy S.A. (SESA).

According to the agreement, the consortium will deliver comprehensive marine services, which encompass tug operations for LNG carriers, offshore logistics and supply assistance, along with crew transfer services. The project will be aided by four advanced tugboats, one anchor handling tug supply vessel, and one crew boat.

Ashwani Gupta, Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) APSEZ, says, “This project reflects our growing capability to support large-scale energy infrastructure projects across geographies.

With marine operations in 12 countries and a growing fleet of marine assets supporting ports, LNG terminals, national oil companies, refineries, and offshore facilities, we bring deep operational expertise to complex maritime environments.

"By combining these capabilities with strong local partnerships, we are helping create reliable maritime ecosystems that enable new energy trade corridors and strengthen long-term supply resilience," Gupta adds.

Argentina is becoming a significant new LNG supplier, having secured agreements to enable exports of up to 10 million tonnes (MT) each year to India starting in 2027. The Southern Energy FLNG initiative is anticipated to significantly contribute to linking this expanding supply base with international demand hubs.
