Airwallex Appoints James Teodorini as the Head of ANZ

Airwallex has named James Teodorini as the Head of ANZ, assigning him the task of overseeing the company's operations in Australia and New Zealand amid the swift expansion of its global payments sector.
The fintech established in Melbourne announced that Teodorini will lead its regional strategy and business operations in both markets. The company has announced an annual transaction volume exceeding $235 billion, reflecting a 127 percent growth compared to the previous year.
Teodorini comes from the cross-border payments company Thunes, where he held the position of Head of Asia Pacific. He has held high-level positions at Visa, Currencycloud, Dent Reality, and Button.
Airwallex runs a financial and payments system for business clients. It offers solutions for international payments, currency exchange, revenue gathering, and expense management.

In his role as Head of ANZ, Teodorini will spearhead initiatives to grow Airwallex's footprint within Australian and New Zealand enterprises. The company aims to attract businesses seeking unified systems for handling global transactions and daily financial activities.
Arnold Chan, General Manager of Airwallex APAC, mentioned that the appointment aligns with a major milestone for the company as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.
Chan stated the company chose Teodorini after an international search.

"James distinguished himself through his profound knowledge of international payments and his demonstrated skill in expanding innovative financial software and platforms, among the remarkable leaders we encountered globally." Airwallex announced that Teodorini will collaborate with companies from various sectors in Australia and New Zealand. The firm presents its offerings as a substitute for conventional banking systems and outdated financial processes for businesses engaged in cross-border activities.
The appointment coincides with Airwallex launching a new branding campaign in its domestic market and internationally. The initiative encourages companies to rethink traditional financial methods and embrace contemporary, unified systems for managing finances.

Teodorini noted he perceives a robust demand in Australia and New Zealand for financial technology that can facilitate growth.
