Apple to Expand into AI Robots, Home Security and Smart Display

Apple is planning its return to artificial intelligence with an ambitious lineup of innovative devices, featuring robots, a realistic version of Siri, a smart speaker with a screen, and home-security cameras. It is entirely a part of an initiative to reclaim Apple’s essence. Its latest ambitious project, the Vision Pro headset, has been a commercial failure, and the design of its top-selling products has stayed mostly the same for years.

Simultaneously, Apple has faced criticism for not capitalizing on the generative AI wave.

OpenAI might also jeopardize the company’s core market by creating innovative AI-powered devices in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive.

Although Apple is at the initial phase of revamping its AI software, leaders view the hardware pipeline as a crucial element of its comeback, aiding in its competition against Samsung Electronics, Meta Platforms, and others in emerging segments.

An Apple representative refused to make a statement. Due to the lack of product announcements, the company's strategy may still alter or be abandoned.

During an all-hands meeting in August, CEO Tim Cook informed employees that Apple needs to excel in AI and suggested new devices are on the horizon. In addition to home devices, Apple is set to launch slimmer and reimagined iPhones in 2025. Additionally, it plans to launch smart glasses, a foldable smartphone, a 20th anniversary iPhone, and a redesigned headset called N100. It is additionally working on a sizable foldable gadget that combines a MacBook and an iPad.

Apple aims to increase sales following years of stagnated growth for its key products. It also scrapped certain expansions into new sectors, such as autonomous vehicles, increasing the urgency to discover alternative revenue streams. Additionally, the new initiatives will aid in countering the belief that the company has stopped innovating.
