Apple to Use Google's AI Model to Run New Siri

Apple intends to leverage a 1.2 trillion-parameter AI model created by Alphabet's Google to assist in overhauling its Siri voice assistant, according to reports.
Following an assessment, the firms are concluding an agreement that would require Apple to pay approximately $1 billion annually for access to Google's technology, according to the report.
The manufacturer of the iPhone will utilize Google's Gemini model as a temporary solution until its own systems are prepared, according to reports. With 1.2 trillion parameters, a gauge of AI model intricacy, the model far outstrips Apple's existing technologies.
Siri has traditionally been less adept than Alexa and Google Assistant at managing intricate, multi-step tasks and working with external applications.

The agreement is distinct from previous talks regarding the direct incorporation of Gemini into Siri as a chatbot, according to the report. The collaboration will not incorporate Google AI search into Apple's OS.
In March, Apple announced that enhancements to Siri's AI would be postponed until 2026, without providing a reason for the delay.
