Audi India Bets on New Models to Drive Double-Digit Growth Next Year

Audi India anticipates that sales will stay unchanged in 2026, despite the fact that the luxury car market in the country is expected to expand by approximately 12 percent.
Nevertheless, the German automobile manufacturer would be relying on new models it intends to introduce in the nation to achieve double-digit growth in the upcoming year.
The firm is relying on festival demand and the release of the new-generation Q3 to spark customer interest from October to December.
Balbir Singh Dhillon, the brand director, stated that it was limited product availability, not weak demand, that was restricting the company's sales this year.
"In our view, we perceive this year as stable, with neither growth nor decline overall." “We are mainly considering that certain products are close to the end of their life cycle,” Dhillon stated.
Audi's goal of double-digit growth starting in 2027 will be backed by an updated lineup.
The next-generation Q3 will be succeeded by the A5 in the first half of next year and the Q9 in the latter half.
The firm has encountered shortcomings in its lineup as current models approach the conclusion of their manufacturing phases.
Dhillon referenced the A4 sedan, which was offered for merely the first six to seven months of 2026. Also, its successor, the A5, is set to be released next year.
“For me, the constraint isn’t demand.” "The constraint is the accessibility," he stated.
Regarding festival demand, Dhillon mentioned that Audi usually experiences a 20–25 percent rise in showroom inquiries and resultant conversions from October to December, in contrast to July to September.

The initial reaction to the SUV has been positive, though potential customers are holding off on reservations until the price is revealed.
Dhillon anticipates that the demand for Q3 will surpass the initial supply, given that production requires two to three months to increase.
The Q3 serves as a crucial volume contributor for Audi, usually representing 25–30 percent of its sales in a typical year when the complete lineup is accessible.

The company has sold approximately 26,000 Q3s in India since the model was launched in 2012.
Audi is working on a long-term plan to increase its market share from approximately 7.5 percent to 15–16 percent within the next three to five years.
