Matai brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning financial services, insurance, and consumer sectors, according to a statement released by Bajaj Finserv, a diversified financial services conglomerate.

He transitioned to BFHL from his role at CPP Group, where he served as the CEO for India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. In this capacity, he spearheaded distribution partnerships within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector, as well as customer propositions and large-scale operational functions, maintaining an unwavering commitment to growth.

Moreover, his career history includes holding senior leadership roles at Barclays and SBI Cards. Commenting on the appointment, Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, remarked that India comprises 16 percent of the global population, yet only contributes to 1 percent of worldwide healthcare expenditure, thus positioning it as a critical and rapidly expanding opportunity in our era.

Bajaj Finserv Health was established as a health-technology platform designed to integrate providers, services, and payers, thereby enhancing accessibility and simplifying healthcare, he stated.

Previously, the TPA service provider Vidal Health, which operates as a subsidiary of Bajaj Finserv Health, and the Serum Institute of India (SII), recognized as the largest vaccine manufacturer globally, declared a strategic partnership. This collaboration, unveiled on Tuesday, is aimed at reinforcing national initiatives geared towards the prevention of cervical cancer and increasing public awareness.

The fully administered health program aims to offer comprehensive support through timely reminders for dosages, monitoring of adherence, and effective network management, thereby guaranteeing the uninterrupted continuation of care, it stated. Adar Poonawalla, the Chief Executive Officer of the Serum Institute of India, stated, "The HPV vaccine represents a crucial advancement in the prevention of cervical cancer.
