imgBill Gates, the Chairman of Gates Foundation and a co-founder of Microsoft, arrived in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. He was greeted by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat.

Throughout his visit, Gates conducted an examination of the Real-Time Governance (RTGS) Centre located at the Secretariat. Chief Minister Naidu provided him with an overview of how the RTGS system utilizes technology to oversee and improve governmental activities.

"Welcome to Amaravati, Mr Bill Gates. It was a pleasure to receive the Chair of the Gates Foundation at Gannavaram Airport today," Lokesh said in a post on 'X'.

The conversation underscored the successes realized in numerous fields through digital governance, illustrating Andhra Pradesh's blueprint for an administration driven by real-time data.

Gates demonstrated a strong desire to comprehend how technology can be effectively utilized to enhance service provision and foster transparency in the public sector.

After the conclusion of the RTGS tour, Gates and his accompanying group participated in discussions with the Chief Minister, ministers, and high-ranking officials.

The conversations primarily centered on enhancing initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, and agriculture, where the Gates Foundation has been actively engaged in partnerships with the state.

 

Naidu introduced the Swarnandhra Vision 2047 for the state, elaborating on reforms and overarching objectives in the fields of public health, education, and agriculture. Highlighted initiatives encompassed MedTech programs, diagnostic services, cutting-edge technology-driven agriculture, and the Sanjeevani Project, a collaboration with backing from the Gates Foundation.

Gates, along with Naidu, later toured an agricultural field in Undavalli village near Amaravati. The group witnessed cutting-edge farming techniques that incorporate drones, artificial intelligence, and other contemporary technologies.

The presentation showcased the capacity of technology to enhance agricultural output and promote sustainable practices in the region. Gates recognized the endeavors of the government at the state level and indicated a willingness to engage in additional partnerships to expand the reach of these programs.

Additionally, Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his Maha Shivaratri wishes to the public and attended the 'Shivoham' event in Namburu, located in the Guntur district. Amaravati is portrayed as a sacred area bestowed with blessings from deities, Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the reputation of Andhra Pradesh for its temples. He cited revered sites like Srisailam, recognized as one of the Jyotirlingas and a Shakti Peetham, the Pancharamas, Srikalahasti, Lepakshi, Draksharamam (Dakshina Kasi), Mahanandi, Srimukhalingam, and Kotappakonda as significant spiritual landmarks of the region.

Naidu reaffirmed his administration's dedication to safeguarding and upkeeping temples, pledging to maintain their sacredness by ensuring that each temple lights a lamp every day and provides customary offerings.
