BMW Group Appoints Hardeep Singh Brar as President & CEO India

imgHardeep Singh Brar has been named the new President and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group India, beginning September 1, 2025, marking a significant change in leadership. 

Brar will take over as CEO of BMW Group's business in Australia and New Zealand after the exit of Vikram Pawah.

India's strategic significance for the brand was emphasized by Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President, Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa, BMW Group.

Having held senior leadership positions at well-known companies like Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, General Motors, Nissan Motor, Great Wall Motor Company, and most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, Brar has more than thirty years of experience in the Indian automotive industry. 

Brar, who graduated from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in Punjab with a degree in mechanical engineering, also completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.

Since joining the BMW Group in 2017, Vikram Pawah has led operations in Australia and India. Under his direction, BMW Group India increased its market share, made progress on its electric vehicle projects, improved digitalization, and improved customer and retail experiences.

With its headquarters located in Gurugram, BMW Group India is a fully owned subsidiary of the BMW Group. It runs a training center in Gurugram, a regional distribution center in Pune, a production facility in Chennai, and a vast dealer network that spans key Indian cities. With more than 80 touchpoints nationwide, the corporation manages the BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad brands and produces ten automobile types domestically.
