The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin offering a range of free online artificial intelligence (AI) bootcamps for students and teachers starting this September. The forthcoming sessions will center on a combination of education, guidance, and acknowledgment chances.

CBSE will organize complimentary online AI bootcamps for Classes 9 and 10 across four phases—September 1–17, October 6–17, November 3–18, and December 1–16. Schools have been instructed to enroll students, who are encouraged to join via a desktop or laptop to engage in practical activities. Links for access will be emailed to registered addresses, and CBSE has provided a specific email for logistical assistance.

Capacity-building programmes (CBPs) backed by IBM are set for educators teaching AI in Classes 11 and 12, particularly in schools that will offer the subject starting from 2025–26.

The Class 11 sessions are scheduled for September 2–4 and October 8–10, whereas the Class 12 sessions will take place on September 15–17 and October 22–24, running from 3 pm to 6 pm. The programs are complementary, and invitation links will be distributed one week prior. Schools are requested to nominate teachers who have not taken part in this training before.

CBSE, in collaboration with NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission, NIELIT, the Ministry of Education, and Intel India, will organize the India AI Impact Festival 2025 to encourage innovation and educational practices with the theme AI Innovation for Social Impact.

Submissions are welcomed in three groups: Impact Creators (students, featuring an AI for Accessibility sub-category), Impact Shapers (teachers), and Impact Nurturers (organizations). The final deadline for submissions is August 31, and selected participants will get professional mentoring.

CBSE has instructed affiliated schools to distribute notices, appoint teachers for the CBPs, and enroll students for the bootcamps to ensure that classroom skills and platform recognition progress simultaneously.

Regional offices and school leaders have been directed to guarantee extensive distribution and adherence, with CBSE highlighting its goal to incorporate AI throughout subjects instead of considering it a specialized elective.
