Confederation of Indian Industry Names Rajiv Memani as President

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) elects Rajiv Memani, Chairman and CEO of EY India as its new President for 2025-26 through the newly constituted national council of the body. Rajiv, who serves on the EY Global Executive Board and chairs the Growth Markets Council, will replace Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and Managing Director of ITC Ltd.

Rajiv’s responsibilities at EY include advancing EY's emerging markets growth agenda and aligning their priorities with the global standards. Rajiv joined an India member-firm of EY Global in mid-1980s and completed his articleship over three years. He worked in the tax and assurance practices of an EY member firm in India. He established EY India's market-leading Corporate Finance, now known as Strategy and Transactions, before assuming the role as Chairman and CEO in 2004. In 2013, Rajiv was appointed on the Global Executive Board of EY as Chairman of the Global Growth Markets Council (GMC). Previously, he was the President-Designate of the Confederation of Indian Industries for 2024-25 and Vice President for 2023-24. He has been a part of central government committees, including the Ministry of Finance taskforce that drafted a new Direct Tax Code in 2019.

Additionally, he is the President of the Board of Him Jyoti School, an institution that aims to provide education to underprivileged girls in Uttarakhand.

 

Rajiv also serves as a board member of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sirmaur and a member of the governing council of KREA University.

Rajiv is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.
