Cushman & Wakefield Names Ronita Majumdar Basu as Head of People

Cushman & Wakefield, a prominent real estate firm, has named Ronita Majumdar Basu as Head of People Partnering for India, South-East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, effective immediately.

In her new position, Basu will oversee the company’s workforce strategy in these vibrant markets, ensuring talent efforts align with business goals and future growth aspirations.

She has nearly twenty years of global HR leadership experience, overseeing people strategy across multi-country operations and extensive capability centers in India, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

Most recently, Basu was employed at JLL as Global People Partner for more than two years, and before that, she held important positions at HT Media, Citibank India, and GE Capital. She has played a crucial role in creating and implementing scalable, internationally aligned people frameworks while accommodating local and cultural differences across various markets. Her skills encompass talent management, leadership growth, employee involvement, compensation, and workforce strategy, aiding businesses during periods of expansion, change, and scaling efforts.

Regarding the appointment, Anshul Jain, Chief Executive for India, SEA, MEA, and APAC Office and Retail, stated, “To boost growth in various markets, it is essential to develop leadership skills and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture. Ronita's business acumen and leadership skills will be vital in enhancing our people strategy and fostering sustainable growth."

Basu is a graduate of XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, where she earned her post-graduate degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Kolkata as well.
