Flipkart Minutes Head Kabeer Biswas Exits After 10-Month Stint

Within 10 months of becoming part of Flipkart, Kabeer Biswas, who previously co-founded and served as CEO of Dunzo, has stepped down from his position as Vice President of Flipkart Minutes, the company's hyperlocal rapid delivery service, media reports indicate.
Reports suggest that Biswas, who came aboard in January 2024, chose to leave following his brief tenure where he was instrumental in expanding the platform's immediate delivery services.
The e-commerce company acknowledged his departure, announcing that Kunal Gupta, an experienced executive currently serving as vice president, will assume leadership of Flipkart Minutes.

The company stated that Kabeer Biswas, Vice President of Flipkart Minutes, has chosen to leave the organization to explore new opportunities. His contributions to expanding Flipkart Minutes and enhancing user experience have been significant.
Biswas came to Flipkart following his departure from Dunzo, the quick delivery platform backed by Reliance that he helped establish in 2015. During his tenure, Flipkart Minutes grew substantially from its initial phase to full operation, allegedly processing more than 300,000 daily orders and extending services to various cities, including Guwahati, demonstrating Flipkart's increased presence in Northeast India.
Though his future plans are not yet known, reports claim that Biswas will probably remain in the rapid delivery sector, potentially joining or providing consultation to major companies like Blinkit, Zepto, or Swiggy Instamart.

During Biswas's leadership, Flipkart Minutes expanded its fulfillment center network to approximately 800 locations, reducing the distance with competitors in India's highly competitive instant delivery market.
Company officials noted that the service brought more than 50 million new users to Flipkart's platform in the previous year, demonstrating how quick delivery services have become an effective driver for online retail expansion.
After Biswas steps down, Kunal Gupta, who has spent more than 10 years at Flipkart, will assume control of Flipkart Minutes. This change represents a significant milestone for the fast delivery platform, continuing to develop what Biswas established.

Although Biswas' future plans have not been disclosed, his knowledge and achievements in expanding Flipkart Minutes establish him as a prominent player in the rapidly expanding quick commerce market.
