Gautam Adani Hails Energy & Digital Security for National Power

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, emphasized that as geopolitical conflicts continue to redefine global trade, supply chains, and technological ecosystems, nations that govern both energy resources and digital infrastructure will become the dominant powers of the 21st century.
He further described energy and digital security as the "dual pillars of national strength."

At the 2026 Annual Business Summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the chairperson of the Adani Group remarked that the foundational premises supporting decades of globalization are unraveling due to increasing geopolitical fragmentation.
In light of the recent geopolitical tensions and assaults on infrastructure, Adani remarked that "energy security and digital security have emerged as the dual foundations of national strength".
“The world that is emerging is not flat. It is fractured and contested. Semiconductors have become instruments of statecraft. Data is being treated as a national resource. Clouds are being weaponised. And Artificial Intelligence is being built behind the protective walls of data centres”
Adani conveyed that India should consider artificial intelligence not simply as software, but rather as a pivotal infrastructure encompassing energy, data centers, semiconductor technology, networking, computing capabilities, and skilled workforce.

The industrial magnate remarked that the magnitude of domestic demand within India's manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and digital services sectors uniquely positions the country to develop extensive AI and energy infrastructure, with such demand being inherently integrated into the economy. He observed that India has surpassed the milestone of 500 gigawatts in installed power capacity. He further emphasized that the nation's prospective economy, driven by artificial intelligence, will necessitate substantial investments in energy and computational infrastructure ecosystems.
He reiterated the previously declared commitment of his ports-to-energy conglomerate to invest USD 100 billion in energy transition and digital infrastructure. This includes the development of the 30-GW renewable energy project in Khavda, Gujarat, as well as collaborations with Google and Microsoft to enhance India's data center and sovereign computing ecosystem.
Contemplating the advancement of the group, Adani stated that he had dedicated decades to developing infrastructure, transforming marshy lands into ports and establishing power projects in areas that previously lacked electricity.
He further mentioned that the forthcoming "struggle for freedom" would be waged "within our power grids, data centers, industrial facilities, educational institutions, research labs, and within our own minds." He elaborated that in the era of artificial intelligence, freedom would be defined as "the ability to generate our own energy, process our own data, and envision our own future."

The chairman of the Adani Group remarked that both the US and China have acknowledged that "energy and intelligence are now intertwined" and have elevated them to strategic national priorities. He asserted that India's growth path uniquely positions the country to establish expansive domestic energy and artificial intelligence infrastructure. He attributed this potential to increasing electricity demand, swift urbanization, and the widespread adoption of digital technologies.
