Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, revealed a $40 billion expansion in Texas, representing the company's biggest investment in a single U.S. state to date.

Governor Greg Abbott participated in the announcement on Thursday in Midlothian, emphasizing the initiative’s economic and technological effects.

The strategy encompasses three new data center campuses to bolster Google's expanding cloud and AI ventures. These energy-demanding facilities will be associated with initiatives to enhance Texas' grid, boost energy affordability, and offer workforce training for students, apprentices, and skilled laborers.

“This represents a significant investment in the future of our magnificent state. Texas stands as the hub of AI advancement, allowing companies to combine innovation with growing energy. We need to guarantee that America stays leading in the AI revolution, and Texas is where it can occur,”  Abbott stated.

Pichai remarked, “It’s said that everything is larger in Texas – and that definitely holds true for the substantial opportunity presented by AI. This investment will generate thousands of jobs, offer skills training to college students and electrical apprentices, and speed up energy affordability efforts across Texas.”

Texas has emerged as a center for large technology and energy firms. Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, together with Amazon and Meta data centers, has transformed the state into a hub for high-tech manufacturing and cloud services.

Authorities contend that Google’s growth strengthens Texas’ status as a business-friendly state with plentiful energy resources and a skilled labor force.
