HSBC and Mistral AI Join Forces to Accelerate AI Adoption

HSBC and Mistral AI have revealed a strategic alliance aimed at advancing and speeding up the adoption of generative AI within the bank, optimizing business operations, and reducing time for employees, and enhancing service for millions of customers worldwide.

This long-term collaboration grants access to Mistral AI’s commercial models, along with future advancements.

According to the agreement, HSBC and Mistral’s applied AI, science, and engineering teams will work together to create generative AI solutions throughout the organization.

HSBC will merge its robust internal technology strengths with Mistral AI’s extensive knowledge in foundational model creation. This will allow HSBC to improve existing AI projects via self-hosted AI models that function on HSBC’s internal technology infrastructure.

HSBC is consistently evaluating various large language models (LLMs) as a component of its technology strategy. The bank recognized a significant chance to leverage Mistral’s AI skills to improve its internal tools, such as an AI-driven platform utilized by HSBC employees worldwide for productivity-related tasks.

The collaboration with Mistral is based on HSBC’s investments in cutting-edge AI technologies aimed at enhancing business efficiency and improving customer service.

HSBC's future priorities will encompass customer-facing innovations, including advancements in credit and lending processes, bettering customer onboarding, and strengthening fraud and anti-money laundering measures.
