In a recent tirade concerning India's acquisition of Russian oil, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro asserted that Brahmins are exploiting the Indian populace and that it must cease. The trade adviser expressed confusion over how the Indian leader collaborates with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping when he represents the largest democracy globally.

“I would simply say, Indian citizens, please grasp what is happening here. You have Brahmins exploiting the Indian populace for profit. We must put an end to that,” Navarro stated.

Navarro has been persistently focusing on India in recent days after a significant decline in relations between Washington and New Delhi due to President Donald Trump's trade and tariff policies.

India has described the tariffs placed on it as unjust and unwarranted.

Navarro was inquired about China's acquisitions of Russian oil and whether imposing additional tariffs on India is sufficient to squeeze Putin.

"To be clear, we currently impose 50 percent tariffs on India, while China faces slightly over 50 percent tariffs." “So the question is, how much higher do you want to reach without causing any harm to ourselves?” he stated.

Navarro stated that before Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2022, India did not procure Russian oil, and its acquisitions were minimal.

"The Russian refiners partnered with major oil companies in India. Putin offers Modi a reduction on the crude. They polish it, then send it to Europe, Africa, and Asia at a high premium, and they profit significantly,” he stated.
