India-US Technology Forum Targets $500 Billion Trade

The Nasscom US CEO Forum convened in Washington, DC to talk about the technology and trade partnership between India and the US. As per a statement issued by Nasscom, the sector seeks to achieve a shared goal of $ 500 billion in bilateral trade.

This meeting took place after the declaration of a trade agreement between the two nations. The assembly gathered on Capitol Hill to talk about innovation, AI, supply chains, and job generation.

Indian technology significantly contributes to the expansion of the US economy. According to reports, these companies add $103 billion to the US GDP.

These companies provide employment for over half a million people in 25 states throughout the US.

Members of the forum also talked about working together throughout the AI value chain. This project is in harmony with the Pax Silica coalition. Indian companies aim to broaden their involvement in silicon design and advanced platforms.

An additional important topic addressed at the forum was energy security. The release stated that energy security became a "strategic priority" at the forum, where "the United States is enhancing AI-critical energy capacity while India incorporates green and nuclear energy to facilitate next-generation data centres."

"According to reports, Indian tech firms are playing a growing role in AI-powered energy optimization, grid analysis, and digital infrastructure, strengthening the resilience of the US innovation ecosystem."

The delegation also engaged with Congress members and officials from the Administration. These consisted of Senator Ron Wyden and Deputy US Trade Representative Ambassador Rick Switzer.

Rajesh Nambiar, President of Nasscom, stated that the trade agreement offers "macro predictability" as technology and talent become "crucial to global competitiveness." He expressed that the forum intends to shift the partnership "from collaboration to co-creation."

The forum adhered to a vision established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump of the United States. It establishes technology as a fundamental aspect of development. The platform featured representatives from government, industry, and academia.
