Indofast Energy, Zeon Charging Expand Battery-Swapping Network
Battery-swapping solutions provider Indofast Energy announced a strategic alliance with Charge Point Operator (CPO) Zeon Charging to enhance battery-swapping infrastructure in premium, high-traffic areas of south India.
As part of the partnership, Indofast Energy will install its Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) at Zeon’s charging locations, which include high-end malls, metro parking centers, and business districts in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and additional major areas.
The collaboration has started with the installation of 6 QIS at two sites in Bengaluru, including Orion Mall, and it mentioned that there are intentions to expand the deployment at Orion Mall further.

"Our collaboration with Zeon Charging enables us to bring battery swapping to some of the most accessible and high-visibility locations across Southern India. Premium malls, metro parking facilities, and commercial hubs are exactly the kind of high-traffic sites where EV users need seamless energy access," said Subhash Bhat, Interim CEO, Indofast Energy.
Through this partnership, Indofast is speeding up its network growth into strategically placed, power-ready areas, he notes.
Indofast Energy utilizes Zeon Charging's selection of top-tier, highly visible locations, allowing access to areas that integrate significant pedestrian traffic, existing electrical infrastructure, and advantageous placements within urban mobility routes, the company stated. Indofast stated that delivery riders and commercial EV users can utilize battery swapping at conveniently located sites, where a two-minute exchange guarantees no interruption to regular activities.
South India constitutes a significant portion of the company's operational presence, featuring more than 450 stations in Bengaluru alone.

Indofast Energy operates a network of more than 1900 swap stations in 24 cities, serving over 120,000 vehicles.
Recently, Indofast Energy and Hala Mobility, an EV-as-a-Service platform, have revealed the extension of their collaboration to speed up the electrification of last-mile delivery and gig economy fleets in India. The firms stated that their current partnership has successfully rolled out 15,000 electric vehicles in under a year. The network is presently functioning in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai.
With the broadened collaboration, the firms plan to introduce 40,000 electric vehicles by March 2027 and 100,000 electric vehicles by March 2028. The growth will also feature new activities in Pune, Chennai, and Jaipur, alongside the current cities.

The collaboration integrates Indofast Energy's battery-swapping system with Hala Mobility's fleet management, allowing riders to exchange drained batteries for fully charged ones in approximately two minutes, thus removing extended charging delays. The firms claimed that the model can cut operating expenses by as much as 40 percent compared to gasoline-powered vehicles, offering advantages to delivery cyclists who generally cover 80–100 km each day.
