JioBlackRock International AMC (IFSC) introduced the JioBlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund, an open-ended fund-of-funds initiative aimed at giving qualifying investors entry to international equity markets through GIFT City.

The fund will mainly invest in BlackRock’s Advantage World Equity Fund, an actively managed global equity strategy, enabling investors to enhance their domestic portfolios with international diversification.

The starting investment requirement is established at $5,000, whereas further investments can be made with a minimum of $1,000. The company states that 90-100 percent of the investments in the scheme will be directed towards units of the BlackRock Advantage World Equity Fund.

JioBlackRock International AMC (IFSC) is a fully owned subsidiary of JioBlackRock Asset Management. The launch increases the investment choices accessible through GIFT City, India's international financial services center, by offering qualified investors a way to engage in global equity markets according to relevant overseas investment regulations.

The recently introduced program utilizes a feeder-fund model, primarily investing in a foundational fund that offers access to firms in developed markets, such as the US, Europe, and Japan.

The core strategy has a history of over eight years and aims to seize long-term growth prospects across regions, industries, and firms.

The framework aims to enhance investors’ local equity portfolios instead of substituting them, providing geographical variety outside of Indian markets. Nevertheless, global equity investments are still influenced by market volatility, currency changes, and other risks linked to foreign exposure.

The GIFT City pathway provides entry to an investment option within a regulated global financial hub, possibly alleviating certain limitations linked to conventional foreign investment channels.

Regarding the launch, Sid Swaminathan, managing director and CEO of JioBlackRock Asset Management, stated that the fund's introduction in GIFT City represents a major advancement in expanding access to global investment prospects.

“We believe global diversification will become an increasingly important component of long-term wealth creation, and this launch marks the beginning of our broader ambition to build a world-class investing platform from GIFT City,” Swaminathan says.

The firm stated that the fund would allow investors to enhance their India exposure with global growth prospects, offering an extra path for long-term wealth generation.

The introduction occurs as investment platforms aim to expand access to global markets through products designed within GIFT City. The program is accessible to qualified investors, contingent on the relevant regulatory and investment conditions.
