Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari aims to boost vehicle availability in India due to rising demand, anticipating reduced import duties under the India-European Union free trade agreement (FTA), which is attracting more potential customers to its dealerships.

Ferrari registrations in India increased by 28.6 percent to 45 units in 2025, up from 35 units in 2024, as per Vahan data. Registrations hit 45 units from January to September 2026, equaling the total for the entire previous year in only nine months, despite a slight decrease in the company's global sales last year.

Francesco Bianchi, President of Ferrari for the Far and Middle East, stated that the firm was ready to boost allocations to India based on demand. Allocations denote the quantity of vehicles designated for specific markets. Ferrari did not reveal the number of extra cars India might get or offer a schedule for boosting allocations. Worldwide, Ferrari's sales fell by 0.8 percent to 13,640 units in 2025, down from 13,752 units in 2024.

Bianchi stated that the possibility of reduced import duties through the India-EU FTA was already sparking interest among potential buyers, who anticipate that Ferrari models will become comparatively more affordable once the deal is implemented. On January 27, 2026, negotiations for an FTA were completed between India and the European Union. On September 11, the European Commission later presented proposals to the Council of the European Union for signing and finalization.

After implementation, the agreement will lower customs tariffs on qualifying EU-origin vehicles imported as fully assembled units within defined yearly limits. For petrol, diesel, and non-plug-in hybrid vehicles with import values above €15,000, the yearly limit will start at 100,000 units and increase to 160,000 units by the tenth year. Import duties within the quota will begin at 30 percent to 35 percent, based on the vehicle's import value, and taper off to 10 percent by the fifth year.

Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids priced at €20,000 or above will follow a distinct concession timetable starting in the fifth year.

The agreement is not yet in effect, and the future effect on Ferrari's prices in India will rely on the relevant tariff regulations and the company's pricing strategies.

Ferrari is additionally enhancing its retail network to leverage increasing demand. The firm presently runs showroom and service centers in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. It intends to broaden its network to Ahmedabad and Chennai, possibly by late 2026. Bianchi states that potential customers are going to Ferrari dealerships to ask about models such as the 12Cilindri, Purosangue, and Amalfi.

The growth occurs as Ferrari presents its lineup of high-performance sports cars and new models to Indian clients during the Universo Ferrari India event. The company has also restructured its regional operations to focus more on India.

Previously overseen with the Middle East, India is now under Ferrari's Southeast Asia and India framework, having a specific executive in charge of sales and marketing within the nation. Ferrari opted for restructuring two years prior to enhance its investment in India and reinforce its direct involvement with local collaborators.

The company traditionally oversees production and vehicle distributions to preserve exclusivity instead of maximizing sales figures. Its readiness to boost allocations thus indicates rising confidence in India's prospects as a market for luxury sports vehicles. With registrations already equaling last year's numbers, new retail outlets in the pipeline, and the possibility of reduced import tariffs, India is becoming a more significant market for Ferrari's upcoming growth phase.
